In 1971, Braun launched a series of travel alarm clocks and watches. The infamous German industrial designers, Dieter Rams and Dietrich Lubs were the masterminds behind the project; and, with their “Less, is more” design philosophy they produced a number of memorable products for Braun including some of the best travel alarm clocks around. Over the last 40 years, Braun time pieces were characterized by their pure, highly functional and timeless design with no superfluous details: Every feature directly reflects a function. This Braun global radio controlled travel alarm clock measures 57mm x 57mm x 19.9mm where the grey version has a positive LCD display for increased visibility. It features a snooze function, quick set function for easy use and can be set to 12 or 24 hour mode. The radio controlled function can be switched off and the clock can be manually set for use in those countries where the radio controlled signal is not picked up. Design is at the heart of Braun:
The concept of ‘less, but better’ has its origins in the Bauhaus movement, but it was Braun and Dieter Rams that created a mind-set of order, clarity and simplicity and applied it to electrical appliances.
