Most dishwashers only need to connect to hot water. The most common installation of the supply line requires you to install a ‘T’ on the sink before adding this piece. So you connection should be ordered as follows: main hot water line-> sink shut off -> “T” connector -> dishwasher supply line (on one leg of ‘T’) and faucet hot water on other leg of ‘T’.
